Jimmy on dmoz

Didn’t know dmoz is owned by AOL now! And they are having all sorts of problems – like it was down for 6 weeks recently and noone knew how to fix the servers. And it is being spammed too (which you will know browsing through a few directories).

I’m thinking of the days when we were trying to get a few of our products into the ‘directory’. Terrible experience, whener you repeat your request, it would be turned down saying come back after 6 months or something. Wonder what Google’s stand/weightage on dmoz is now – if your page is listed in dmoz, Google usually gave a good PR and a top listing.
